Ms Briana Bluebell has always had a thing for vintage femininity and tradition. Growing up watching old classics inspired her passion for lace, corsets, music and theatre. Since the age of 5, Briana trained in various styles of dance with ballet being her forte, adoring live theatre and ballet concerts. In 2004, Briana completed her Certificate IV in fashion design and took off to Europe and the UK where she absorbed the European and English cultures. Whilst in London, Briana discovered a growing culture known as ‘Burlesque’ - a world full of glamour, comedy, decadence and outrageously passionate people who inspired Briana to jump onboard.
Back in Australia in 2008, Briana joined the Darling Diamond Dolls in Sydney performing at venues such as De Nom Ruby Rabbits, Slide and Star City taking the stage name of Briana Bluebell. Around the same time, Briana also entered one of her vintage inspired dresses into the young designer awards at the spring racing carnival, making the finals. Needing something special to complete the outfit, Briana created her first fascinator and Ms Bluebell was born!!
12 months later, Briana Bluebell realised her dream pursuing a solo career in Burlesque. Since then she has been featured on Channel 9's 'Money for Jam', performed at the Ruby Review produced by burlesque agent Jac Bowie, The Gaelic Club with The Velvet Set and various other events. Briana thoroughly enjoyed putting on successful events in 2009 and is very excited about more upcominng ventures and promoting her label 'Ms Bluebell' in 2010!! |
